STILL DANCING

The following is a revised handling for "Life is One Great Dance".

WORKING

1. Run through the pack and remove the Kings and Queens - discard the rest of the deck. Arrange the face up packet with Kings on top of the Queens as follows:

QC - QS - QH - QD - KS - KH - KD - KC (face card)

( The way to remember the above set-up is to arrange the Kings so they mirror the Queens, then swap the KD with KS. )

2. Spread to show the cards, then close the spread and catch a break under the first Queen (5th card). Lift off the top 5 cards, apparently the four Kings, and flip the remaining 3 cards face down, then flip the Kings face down on top.

Push off the top two cards - take them with your right hand - flash teh face card, then drop the pair face down on the table. Push off two more, flash both faces before dropping them onto the first pair on the table, "Each King is looking for a wife to be his Queen," you say. 

Turn the remaining 4 cards face up and carry out a Jordan Count, saying, "Each Queen is looking for a husband." Turn then face down. Now pick up the Kings and drop them on top of the Queens.

3. "Suddenly, the Kings made their move." As you say this, pull off the top and bottom cards together, then slap the remaider on top. This is basically a Slip-Cut of the top card to 2nd bottom.

STAGE TWO

This is much the same as the original, however there are a few additional refinements. The shuffle has been modified from a 2 x 4 to a 3 x 3. I've also removed the showing of the unmatched pairs after the shuffle. I feel this is unnecessary because you next show that they don't match anyway.

4. Pick up the pairs forming one pile so that the reds ands blacks lie together, e.g., K/Q-Hearts, K/Q-Diamonds, K/Q-Spades, K/Q-Clubs.

You now divorce the couples by Overhand Shuffle as follows :

Run 3 singly then throw the balance on top. Repeat two more times. Note, you can still use the 2 x 4 here. Just don't run a single card at the end.
